The University telephone system is based on Mitel 3300 IP Communications Platforms. The majority of internal calls and all external calls are carried across the data network using VoIP (Voice over IP) technology.
The existing analogue handsets are being replaced with VoIP handsets on a building by building basis. This work is expected to take several years, and is closely linked with the Estate Development Strategy.
